"It seems so." Prudence said. "Most people get it from their mothers, but if the mother only has a son, the son gets the powers and gives it to his first born daughter or son. Most of the time a daughter is born though, so it's normally the daughters. But a few people gain the powers and no one else in their families have said powers and the child is beyond all doubt the child of both of the parents."

She laughed alittle.
"It's quite alright." She said. "No, not many have it. Most people are the members of hte same family, so there are multiple people in the same family with the powers, making it seem like many have it, but there are not."
