"Those legends are correct, you know. You've meet the people in them. Well, sorta." Rastus said. "Amaya and Dante Smith were that couple. Dante had just killed his dad and he asked Amaya to marry him. Karina and Sarah were Jaysn and Amaya's code names. If you ever saw the two of them, it was like they were sisters. Jaysn was Karina and Amaya was Sarah. You've meet Jaysn. Amaya is Elly and Aeron's mom. Dante, the current Captain Smith, is their father."

"Jaysn is seriously Katrina? That explains a lot." Phyre said, remembering how Jay and Mark were about the legends. "Wow, I never really thought they were real people."

"In this country, people in the legends, they're real until you get abosolute, honest to god, proof they aren't." Rastus said. "Aunt Jay and Aunt Ama lead a war. And now look at them. Would you have guessed it? Well, you can't look at Aunt Ama, but Aunt Jay."

Phyre thought about it for a second he could barely see Jay holding a sword much less wedging a war. She seemed so peaceful, like she didn't want to fight. Phyre frowned, you really couldn't know someone till you knew the important events in their life.
"No, I wouldn't have. Jay never struck me as the kind that would hold a sword against a person, much less wadge a war." Phyre said.

"She didn't hold a sword against anyone. She was more a dagger and arrow kinda person. It was Amaya that was the sword person. Dante wrote several books on the war. What it was like, how it was fought, the oppostition and such. Basically anything you could think of since he fought the war from both sides." Rastus said. "I study warfare as a hobby. His books are good."
Rastus, he could see Jay and Amaya waging a war. Because he knew them and he knew how they were. Even if Amaya was around anymore, he could still see it. Dante, who at times if you snuck up on him would whip around and get his sword out. Jaysn who would pat her dagger every once in awhile while passing a guard member, even though her husband was one of them. Amaya, who seven years ago, would still hum a song about the war, because as silly as it sounded, it made her remember that it was over. That she was safe. And Charlie, who even now still wouldn't go into the old Captain's office in the guard's base, because of the old memories.
They were fighting a new war though. And despite all these constant reassurances that their war was over, they still had to fight in this new one. But thier stratigies weren't working. Straight out warfare wasn't the key to this one.
(ooc. the first captain's office is sealed off becuase of haunted rumors...)

Phyre nodded. "Maybe I should try to read them." Phyre said.
He was slightly disorientated. He had known Jay since he was five, probably before but he couldn't remember. She was one of his hero's in the sense that she always seemed free. Katrina was his hero in the sense of honor and war. He was having trouble fitting the two in one body.

"Yeah. Just ask Elly's Dad. He'll be sure to hook you up with a few copies. Aeron can introduce you two, if you want." Rastus said. "Or I can loan you my copies. But they're "well loved", considering a certain monkey decided she was going to steal my copies instead of just getting some from her father.."

"Do you mind if I borrow yours? I don't think Aeron would to much of anything for me." Phyre said. "It probably wouldn't be the best of ideas to ask him."

"Nope!" Rastus said, cheerfully. "It's never a good idea to ask a crack addict for anything. Yeah, you can borrow them. I'll give 'em to May to give to you when I find them. Moving around so much has caused me to lose stuff."

"Mum kicked me out a month ago." Rastus explained. "I crash at the Crescent Base alot, but sometimes I crash at the Smith's place or Lily's pad. Or even at some relatives that don't totally hate mum."

"Meh. I was gonna move out later anyway." Rastus said. "This way I got the freedom to stay out all night and do contracts."

"Hows that going? The freedom?" Phyre asked.
Most of the people in the settlement couldn't really take care of themselves after they finished apprentice ship (or in rare cases got kicked out). Most went straight into working for their old master others tried to break away but failed. This city was different though.

"I get to kill people every night. I'd say it's working out fine." Rastus said, nonchalantly. "Much better than being at home. I get to see Gabe everyday anyway, so it's not like I'm missing anything."
