Nathaniel nodded.
"You're probably right. We'll see what it takes to get him back." he said. "No kidding, I think someone filled this bed up with rocks."
~
Jay shrugged. "Hopefully drama. I didn't agree to this for the simple things in life ya know?" she said. "I mean, if he ran away, there's no way he wants to go back."

The group, albeit uncomfortably, fell asleep on the beds of the inn. Before dawn, Amaya awake and dressed quickly with Jay and they went to fetch the two boys who were also ready and willing to head out early so that they could find the missing prince and go back home.
The group were given a small breakfast by the innkeeper that they could eat on the go. It wasn't much, but it was warm. In the cool morning air, that was blessing to the group. They moved quickly to the edge of the town, heading south towards the next town, hoping against hope that they would be able to find the prince and persuade him to willingly come back. Or were able to unwillingly gather him, which is why Erik had rope in his pack. Just in case.
The path grew smaller, but the footprints and hoofprints left by the group they were tracking only became more obvious as a result. Clearly this was not a road used often, at least not in this time of year. Soon, as the sun grew higher in the sky and the day grew warmer and warmer, the edge of the next town where hopefully the prince still was came into view. As the group entered, they all inquired about the prince and found that last night, he and his group had stayed in the local inn and that so far, no one had seen them leave.
They hurried to the inn, hoping to catch him. And there, in the middle of the dining area of the inn, was the young prince, playing cards with what must have been one of his travelling companions.
"Prince Sig!" Erik said. "We have travelled a long way to find you. At the very least, would you do us the courtesy of an audience with your majesty?"

Sig looked up.
"Erik! Nathaniel! And friends! Come join us!" he said, gesturing to the table. "My friends have just taught me how to play poker."
Nathaniel sat down next to Sig. "Prince, you need to come home."
Sig looked at Nathaniel and shook his head. "No. I don't want to. Fucking Dirt, Nate, she doesn't even want to marry me. And you of all people know that I don't want to marry her." He said, not so casually grabbing Nathaniel's hand.
Nate nodded. "I know. But running is not the answer. This could cause war, and that is the last thing we want. You need to come home so we can sort this out."
"My father would never allow- he won't make this end well for us." Sig answered.
"War is also a horrible ending, Sig." Nate countered.
Sigmund stared at him for a minute. Then nodded. "Fine. But I still refuse to wed her." he said.
Nate stood up and tugged on Sig's hand. "That's fine. Let us depart."

Very relieved that the Prince very peacefully agreed to come home, the group began to turn back. It was a longer trek back than it was there, considering that on the way there, they had rushed for the sake of time. On the way back, they were able to go at a slightly more reasonable pace. But soon enough, the group reached Kyyra, where they had to part. Sig, as it turned out, was much nicer and a little less snottier than Amaya had pictured. More scared of his future and prone to making rash decisions. She liked him.
"And here is where we must part friends. Jaysn, Amaya, it has been a pleasure knowing you both and I hope to one day soon see you two lovely ladies again. " Erik said, taking the hand of both girls and briefly kissing their knuckles.
"Same to you Erik." Amaya said. "If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, let me know and we can do this again sometime. And you both too, Sig and Nate. Keep in touch."

Jay gave Nate a hug. "It was nice meeting you deary," Jay told him.
Nate nodded. "And you."
Sig nodded to both of the girls. "It was nice to meet you." he looked off. "Time to head back though."
Nate nodded. And the boys started on their way back to Norra, and a lot of pissed off cheiftians.
