She smelled that Jay was making her hangover kick ass thing. Oh thank Mara.
"Jay, do you have enough for two?" She asked, rolling out of where she had slept, untangling herself from Erik. "I need to be in tip top shape for this adventure."

Jay nodded.
"Enough for four thankfully." She handed a glass to Ama, and walked over to hand Nathaniel one.
He looked at it oddly. "It smells like bear piss."
"And tastes just as good." Jay replied. "But it'll get rid of your hangover in a heart beat."
Nathaniel made a face but took a sip anyway. It really did taste like bear piss too.

Having never had bear piss before, unlike apparently everyone else here, Amaya pretty much just thought that this drink tasted just generally bad. She drank it down with a gulp, making a terrible face. She'd had it before though, so even if it never got less horrible, she at least grew accustomed to the taste of it.
After the group was more or less recovered and sober, they agreed to begin heading out. To start, they were going to go into town and ask around about new people showing up, people who may have made an impression some how. As they walked into the bustling town, they headed into the market place so that Ama could work her magic. A young man matching the description of the prince had in fact passed through town some days ago and was talking about heading more south, but other than that no one could say anymore.
"So I guess we head south." Amaya said.
"Is it hotter down there?" asked Erik.
"Yeah." was the response.
"Damnit."

They headed down to the south gate of town. If this boy was a prince, even Norran, he probably took the road instead of roughing it.
Jay went over to the guard, who she's seen checking her out once or twice when she'd gone south for jobs. He always seemed to be the one on duty. After chatting him up for a minute, she found out that the prince had gone through this gate, about two days ago on horse back.
Jay went back to give this information to Ama, Nate, and Erik.
"What do you think?"

"He was on horseback, we're on foot. Even if he didn't have two days on us, it'd be hard to catch up. However, if he's on the roads, he would be slower than if we cut through the woods. And this Jay, is where you come in and take over." Amaya said. "Is there anything else we should know about him that could help us catch him?"
Erik pondered this for a moment.
"He's not a terrific rider. Just a skill he never mastered. He won't be going as fast then and will probably take frequent breaks, knowing him." Erik said. "Nathaniel, can you think of anything else?"

"He's a bit of a people addict. He always needs them around, so he's probably found company by now, which may have slowed him down more depending." Nathaniel added.
Jay nodded. "Alright, let's boogie."
Jay started off at a light jog through the woods. On foot through the woods, if this man was really as slow as they thought, it should take maybe a day, a day and a half to catch up with him. Occasionally she would run ahead to the road, to check for tracks, looking for one or two horses prints that stood out in the mud. This time of year only locals traveled between towns, which meant the road went mostly unused, so any tracks showed that they were on the right trail.

Getting to know these guys was fun. No other word for it, Nathaniel and Erik were just plain fun. They were great to hang out with, knew their shit and could keep up with Amaya and Jaysn, which was always a plus. Jay was doing her tracking thing, something that Amaya always loved watching her do because it was so much fun to watch.
"Where do you two reckon he would have headed?" Amaya asked after they had been on the trail for awhile.
Erik frowned, thinking. "I honestly don't know. As a prince, he knows far more than be about foreign geography. We got stuck in Kyyra because that's as far as most people were taught. Norrans don't venture down south too often and we really never go past Kyyra when we do."

"Most people just don't see the draw to be honest. No one down here believes as we do- and there's a myth that when you leave Norra, you won't return, and if you do you'll loose your alignment to the elements." Nathaniel added.
"Alignment?" Jay asked. "What's that exactly?"
"Like your ability to communicate with them." Nathaniel said. "It's what makes Norra special."
Jay nodded. "I've heard about the magic you all are supposed to have. No one really believes those stories around here though. Some Woodlanders do, but that's about it."

"Onoskans don't like magic. Mara's about all they're willing to believe in and Onoskans will only believe in her when it works out for them." Amaya said. "Add magic into the mix and all hell will break loose. Better to just let people believe in what they want to believe in, otherwise there'll be a whole lot of tension about this affair."
Amaya looked at the sky.
"Jay, what do you make of what these clouds are doing here?"

Jay looked up.
"That, my love, is a storm." she said. "Which means we'll probably loose tracks. We should probably speed up. There's a small town I would expect the prince to have stopped at two miles ahead of us. We can get some information and shelter there."
Nathaniel nodded.

The group hurried until they got into town. Luckily the tavern at the only inn in town was also the largest gathering point in the town beyond an outdoor market (that was looking pretty deserted in anticipation of the storm). This would be the perfect spot to go out and gather information.
The group began to split up once their two rooms were rented for the night and weaved their way through the large crowd in the tavern to gather information and see what they could learn about the missing prince.
Amaya was currently wrapped up in a conversation with an older gentleman who often worked on the outskirts of town in the direction they were heading towards. He had seen a young man the day before heading off on horseback with a group of fellow travelers, some on horseback, some not. This mixture would slow the group down, as people on horseback naturally moved faster than those on foot and the group would want to keep pace together.

Nathaniel was talking to a lanky woman with a bit of a lisp. He'd over heard her say she'd met this exotic man a day or so ago. He found her pretty vapid, but the description sounded a lot like their prince. Bored, and having got what information he wanted out of the woman, he joined Jay who looked to be in an equally as interesting conversation with some dude with a beard.
"...and then, the man jumped up on to his horse and declared "All you heathens shall burn in the unending fires!" and he ran away! It was one hell of a scene." the man had been saying.
Jay nodded, "That does sound like one hell of a man. Have there been any other interesting men around these parts recently?"
The man paused for a second. "Hm, there was this one man- he seemed to not have all his screw in straight. Had one hell of a bruise on his ass- Nelly over there had to help him out with it." He pointed out another woman in the bar. "One hell of healer that one is."
"How'd he get a bruise on his ass?" Jay asked.
"Fell off his horse that he did! The man hardly knew how to ride!"
Nathaniel smiled a little. Jay laughed. "Obviously not a local then."
The man shook his head, "No, Onoskan would show their face if they rode like that."

The group, after regrouping, began discuss what they had learned.
"The next town is about a half a day's journey from here on foot. According the man I was speaking to, they left this town pretty late into the afternoon and I'd wager just got into town. I imagine the pattern will repeat itself, the prince likes to sleep in." Erik said. "So we should spend the night here and leave rather early in the morning and we might be able to catch up with him."

Jay nodded in agreement.
"Sounds like a good plan. It seems like we're almost there." she said.
Nathaniel nodded. "Almost there."
The group headed up the stairs to bed.
Nathaniel was sitting on his bed staring at the wall while Erik got ready for bed.
"Hey, Erik, what do you think is going to happen when we do find him?"

"I think he's going to try to ask us not to take him back. And I think it might be up to you to convince him otherwise." Erik said, as he took off his boots. "Quite frankly though, I'm hoping he'll agree to go back without much of a fuss. The girls here are great, but I do miss Norra and my own bed, you know?"
Erik threw off his shirt and fell backwards on the bed.
"My bed is definitely more comfortable than this one."
----
"Jay, what do you think is going to happen when we show up tomorrow?" Ama asked, as she wrested off her shoes and laid backward on the bed.
