It was three in the morning and Harper was pacing in front of the entrance to the home. Where was she? She had said she'd be home by eleven when Harper had asked. The streets were dangerous at this time of night though and anything could have happened.
And with that thought in mind, Harper went to go put on his shoes and get out there and search for his wife.

Saffron walked up from taking the long way home, her head was hidden in her hood with only a couple pieces of her brillant red hair showing through. It was a chilly night, and the meeting had run late, very late. It was fun though, talking debating deciding the best course of action. Sally and Saffron had sat to the side listening and forming their own opinions before everyone turned to them (Because they were being quite) and they basically gave the same decision. Jason's colors should be Green and Orange for his rule.
Saffron walked up to the door step entered her house, thinking her husband had turned in already.

Harper was lacing up his other boot when the door opened.
"Saffron! Where the hell have you been!? Do you have any idea what time it is or how worried I've been?!"

"Um.... The stars looked at about three. I thought you would have gone to bed by now." she swallowed. She was going to lie...To Harper? "I was out looking at midnight blooming flowers, and got lost in the time."

Harper couldn't tell if she was lying or not. Usually she wasn't the best of liars or so he thought. She might have just never even tried before. But he honestly couldn't tell. So he just exhaled.
"Fine. I'm sorry for yelling at you. Let's just go to bed?" He asked tiredly. At least it wouldn't happen again, he hoped.
~
Exactly five days later at two-thirty in the morning, it happened again. So when the door opened, he launched into a tirade.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous these streets are at night, Saffron!? This is twice in one week! Is this going to be a pattern or something?! Where have you been?! Keep this up and you're going to get sleep deprived!" He said, then launching into a long rant about dangerous streets and sleep deprivation and it's effects on the human body.

Saffron gave a little sigh of relief and followed her husband to bed.
And more than made up for being late.....
~
Saffron hung her head, and sighed.
"I'm sorry. I'm just not used to having someone to come home to..." she said. "I've never gotten hurt before, and I don't need have to get up early tomorrow, Sonja is opening the shop." She walked over to her husband and held his hand. "I'm really sorry."

He just sighed and hugged her.
"Ok. Just please don't let it happen again. You worry me when you stay out this late, that's all."
He took her hand.
"Even if you're not going to be sleep deprived, you should still get to bed. It's late."

She nodded and hugged him close.
~
She knew it was late, really late, the sun was starting to come up, and Harper would be pissed, but she didn't care. All she could think about was that he wasn't safe. Saffron was in tears, bad thoughts had plagued her head about what could happen to Harper since it was mentioned at the meeting He was in the military and.... It might be best if soon she left. The thought brought more tears to her eyes, and wrenched her heart like a flower being torn from the ground. It was the last thing in the world she wanted ever.
When she got through the door and saw him she flung herself into his arms and kissed him fervently.
Pecking him, she said, "I love you, I love you, I love you."

There was a daisy in her hair. Granted it was wilted by this point and petals were coming off, but it was a daisy none the less. Harper should have taken that as a warning. He didn't kiss Saffron back but instead walked backwards to the door frame.
"Where the hell have you been?" He asked, his voice low as he leaned against the door frame. This was the tenth or so time in a month that she had stayed out almost all night and he was getting sick of it. Was she seeing someone else? Was that it?

Saffron saw his face and retreated, her arms instead of around him she wrapped around herself and she shrunk.
The tears in her eyes bristled again.
"I...I...." She stumbled, under his glare, completely unable to form a sentence.

Damnit, she had tears in her eyes. He didn't like it when she was upset. Right now, underneath the anger, which was really just on the surface and not very deep, was the urgent need to hug her and tell her it was going to be ok. But, unfortunately, anger won out in this instance.
"Saffron," He started, deciding to just be blunt. "Are you seeing someone else?"

Saffron's eyes went wide.
"What?" she breathed.

"Well what else am I supposed to think? You're running around at all hours of the night alone, not coming back till almost dawn. You can only go and see the flowers oh so many times, so I know that's not it. And if you're not seeing someone else, than what is it?" He asked.

Saffron looked at him hurt and fire mixing in her eyes.
"You'd think that of me?" she whispered. "You honestly think I would do something like that? And what business is it of yours where I go at night! I'll be home, that's all you need to know!" She swallowed. "And I was out looking at flowers tonight and accidentally fell asleep! I"m sorry! I'm SORRY that I"m not the perfect bride, but you're the one that married me! I wouldn't have said yes if I wasn't going to be faithful!" Her jaw locked. "Or maybe you think I'm cheating because you are."
(ooc. Saffron barely knows how to be angry....)

He just stared at her.
"And where, exactly, would I find the time to have a mistress?" He asked, his voice low. "Between working all day, spending my breaks at the flower shop, and pacing the flower at night, waiting for you, I really don't think you could even imagine that I'd have the time, let alone the inclination, because damnit, those wedding vows MEAN something to me."
