Carmina was in the town square, strumming away on her bass. She wasn't really playing for tips, though they were appreciated. She had always been told she was a good singer, but she didn't like to sing as much as she loved to play. She kept playing until she saw the shadow of someone who had stopped in front of her.
"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Actually I was going to ask you the same thing." Saffron said. She took a flower out of her basket and handed it to the girl. "Here you go, cherie. You are amazing on that thing. My name is Ron, What is yours?"

"Dankeschön." Carmina said, taking the flower. "I'm Carmina. I guess I'm ok on it. But it's nothing in comparison to what my mother could do before she passed on."

"Maybe, you and her are probably about the same talent, now. Daughters tend to take after mothers. Or they are completely different." Ron said. "I was always a daddy's girl, even after my parents passed."

"Possibly." Carmina said. "I'm sorry about your parents."
She had never known her father, and with her mother dead, she was essentially an orphan. Personally, she was glad she had never known her father. That way she never knew what she was missing, since he wouldn't have been apart of her life anyway.

"Unless you are a Rassi, cherie, it is not your fault." Ron said. She had excepted the fact that her parents were dead. Her aunt had taken her in and that was good enough for her. "You must have been close to your mother, but what about your father? Is he non-existent to you? Or has he passed too?"

"Well, my mother was Imperial. I dont' know what my father was, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm not associated with such scum." Carmina said. "I may be poor, but I do have standards. And Rassi's do not make such standards."
She hated Rassi's. Her mother had died because of them. And she was rather hell bent on revenge. If she ever saw the man who did it, she was going to kill him. And that sad part was that he was her age. It was astonishing that someone so young could be so cold.

"My father was in the Guard, my mom helped in my aunt's flower shop. When the first wave of Rassi's came they fought and made sure i would survive but in the end they both died. How did your mother die?" Ron said, frowning with a little anger in her voice. "You don't seem like the type that would want to be associated with a guy period... independent.

"A Rassi solider killed her, after a fashion. He stabbed her multiple times and left her in the rain to die. I found her. That's why he ran. She was alive when I found her. And for several days, she suffered before she died from an infection." Carmina said, her voice monotone. She was used to recounting this information. People seemed to like hearing of other's lives.
"I don't have a man in my life, nor do I plan to." She siad.

Ron nodded. "Sorry, human curiosity tends to take over my manners." Ron said. "I'm really sorry about your mother though. I hope you are able to get revenge on the solider that did that to her."
Ron smiled. "I think that is a good philosophy. The only man that has seemed to be worth my time has been my father."

"Vati tochter, eh?" She asked. "I was a mother's girl. I would pick her flowers from our backyard, show her how I was doing in school, play my instrument for her, and sing for her whenever she asked. She said that I was good at it. But I never believed her, of course."

"No one I've ever met has ever really taken a compliment and believed it. Trust me I've given out many, to none being truely excepted." Ron said. She had to be nice to get client to come back but even with out that she just loved seeing the slight blushes that people get from compliments.
"Sounds sweet. I was much the same way with my father, except the music part. I can't sing very well or play anything. What was your mother like? She sounds really sweet, well maybe that isn't the right word, but it is the only one i can think of right now." She said.

"She was...she was my best friend. All we ever had was each other. She did her best to raise me well. She was extremely talented at music and I always envied that. She claimed I was just as good, I was just younger and didn't have as much experience. But she was more talented." Carmina said. "But she couldn't sing a note to save her life. I'm not a good singer, but I'm better than she was."

"It seems like she accomplished her goal. You don't seem too bad." Ron said, teasingly. "You have your own talent in music. You might be a little bit worse at your instrument but you make up for it with your lovely voice. Everything tends to even out."

"How do you know what my voice sounds like? You've never heard me sing." Carmina said, suspiciously. She seemed rather odd.
