Tristin was looking for someone to steal from lately he was having a harder time getting people's wallets, and when he did get them they were almost empty anyway. Stupid war. He noticed a couple that looked pretty rich and did a quick 'accidental' bump in between them, quickly pulling the man's money pouch from his side. Tristin was gone before the man even noticed he had been bumped into. Tristin went to a side street to see how much he had gotten. It was enough for a week of food maybe. Just then Mittens, his bobcat came up beside his knee with a fruit in his mouth, "Mittens," Tristin said with a smile. "Good job," Mittens groweled in the general direction of Tristin's left, a warning. Tristin lifted an eyebrow but didn't look. "Can I help you?" he asked. Prudence didn't know what she was doing. She knew that she had seen the boy steal that guy's money, but she knew that the man hadn't noticed. The past few weeks of learning how to use her powers had made her more confident. Not that her mother had noticed, despite that she had groaned for years that Prudence was too shy.
What had really driven her to follow him was that she knew the man. He looked rich, but he had recently come on some hard times (not that he didn't deserve them) and had a family to feed(they were alright, the youngest was really cute.). He no longer had his wealth, but his wife still wanted to put up the show, since her parents would be more likely to help them out if the parents didn't know just how much they had lost.
So Prudence, looking out for some aquaintances decided to confront him. He might be poor, but what he just did was steal food from five children all under the age of 10. Bastard.
"You should give him back his money." She said, raising an eyebrow of her own.

Tristin looked up a the girl. She wasn't especially tall, she had a slight air of confidence. 'A goody two shoes, great.' he thought. Not only that but he got caught, Mittens would never let him live it down.
"Give me three good reasons why." he said. "If they are worth it, I might actually risk it."

"I know that family. A: What you just stole from them is probably their week's worth of food. They may look rich, but they aren't. B: They have five children who are under five and those kids aren't brats. C: You got caught and I can go tell them that they were robbed by you." Prudence said.

Tristin thought about it.... Five kids... One week of food. Okay, worth it. He looked at Mittens, who gave a disgusted look but gave his little yes. "I'll be right back," he said, mostly to Mittens. He walked towards the crowd, He pocketed a few coins for himself and went to find the couple.

Prudence smirked alittle and leaned against a wall in the alley, awaiting the young thief's return.
After a few moments he did return.
"Now don't you just feel so much better inside?" She asked.

Tristin looked at the girl like she had five heads. "Feel better inside?" he said slowly. "You obviously have never stolen." He looked around for Mittens. "Where is my friend?"

She looked at him blankly.
"Like I know. I don't exactly pay attention to the musings of cats that growl at me." She said. She took out a nail file and began filing her nails.
"Shouldn't you be keeping an eye on your pets anyway?" She asked.

Tristin rolled his eyes. Spoiled goody two shoes.
"Hope you didn't take it to personally, princess." he said. He hopped up on a crate, stepping up to a good spot, grabbed the gutter and pulled him self up on the roof to see if Mittens was there. After a thorough search he flipped back down. "And he isn't a pet, he is a friend."

"Most friends I have aren't named Mittens." She said. She took out her grimmoire. "I know an easier way to find him, if you want."

Tristin was intrigued and supisious. He took great care not to say Mittens in front of people. "How'd you know his name?" Tristin asked. "What is that?"

"You said Mittens right infront of me. Remember? It was five seconds before you so rudely greeted me." She said. "And this is a matter of secrecy, so I'm not going to tell you. Do you want my help or not?"

"Will it hurt him?" Tristin asked excepting her first answer. He was used to secrets, that part he got, but he wasn't going to let her do anything to Mittens that would hurt.

"No." She said. "He won't even notice. Now do you have something of his that he likes on you? Because otherwise this isn't gonna work."
She opened hte book to the correct page and smiled at the scent of a musky, old, dusty scent.

Tristin took a ball of yarn out of his bag. "Here." he said. He handed to her slightly reluctant.
