She took it and held it in one hand as she read the book using her other hand. She spoke some strange words and a light appeared out of the yarn. A few blocks away another, stronger light appeared. It was moving towards them, but it wasn't because of her spell. Her spell was a tracking spell that made the light appear. But the cat was coming back of it's own accord.
She put the book back and gave him back his yarn.
"There you go." She said, turning to go.

Tristin grabbed the girls shoulder. "How did you do that?" he asked. Mittens jumped off the roof on to Tristins head. "Ow, Mittens," he said.

She looked at him, levelly. Well kinda. She was shorter than him, so she was really looking up, but you get the point.
"You don't need to know." She said.

"Your a witch, aren't you?" Tristin asked. He had met one before when he was in the circus. Her name was Mildred, if he remembered correctly.

She smirked.
"No." She said. "In fact, I'm not even real." And with that she disappeared.

Tristin's hand fell. 'What the hell?'.... "Oh well, come on Mittens, let's go steal some dinner" he said and flipped his way on the roof. Mittens followed with a simple leap.
