"It's nice to meet you, M'am. I'm Carmina." She said, with a polite smile. "You must be Saffron's grandmother."

Saffron's grandma looked at her. Saffron smiled. "Désolé grand-mère, ils ne parlent pas le français. Elle a dit que c'était agréable de vous rencontrer." Ron said to her grandmother.
She looked at her friends. "My grandma doesn't know much english. But she knows a little. My grandpa know more, english that is." Ron told them.
As if on que the door opened and an older man walked in. His eyes fell upon his granddaughter they lit up. "Petite fleur!" he exclaimed and pulled her into a hug.
"Salut,grand-père." Saffron said. "Grand-pere these is my friends, Carrie and Bran."
He looked at the two with his face glowing. "Bonjour! Friends de my fleur are always welcome here!" he said, his french accent heavy in his words. He went over and gave his wife a kiss and held her close.

Saffron's grandfather,Durand, smiled as he shook the boy's hand. He took a quick assessment, prideful, arrogant. He smiled, the boy's look and attitude, reminded Durand of him self at his age. "Est-il militaire?" he asked his grand daughter.
"Oui," Saffron said. She was paying close attention to how her grandparents were reacting, hoping that Bran and Carrie were seeing what she hoped they would. "Il est militaire. beaucoup, militaire." Ron said with a slight smirk.

Carmina, not realizing what Saffron wanted them to see, was attacked by her grandmother, saying Carmina was too skinny. Well, that's what it sounded like. She really couldn't tell because of hte accent.
She just smiled and nodded.

Saffron laughed as her grandmother fussed over Carrie. "Grand-mere want you to follow her to the back. She wishes to feed you. I would suggest not arguing." Ron said. The others filed into the kitchen but her grandfather told her to stay.
"Fleur, Moi et vous avez raté votre grand-mère, d'où viens-tu? Sweet, il est trop dur pour vous rendre à votre propres grands-parents?" he asked.
Saffron put her head down in shame. "Grand-père Désolé, mais vous savez pourquoi je n'ai pas venir. Je promets de visiter plus."
Her grandfather nodded gravely and gave his granddaughter a hug. They went to join the others, they would talk more later, Saffron knew, but for now past was forgotten.

It did not escape Carmina's notice that her friend was behind all of them. She saw her friend's face.
"You ok, Ron?" She asked, worriedly.

Saffron looked up and put on a smile. "Yes, I'm fine, ange. It has just been a long time." Ron told her.
There was a time when Saffron lived with her grandparents, she had become to vengful and started becoming violent. She and her grandparents had had a falling out, and now she was back.

She nodded.
"We can go soon if you want. I'm just not getting what you want me and Bran to see." She said.

Saffron smiled. "No, I think my grand-mere isn't going to let us go until you eat." Ron said. "It is okay, I didn't really expect you to see it, not now at least."

They were served food and they all ate with small converstations. It wasn't tense or ackward, just something felt off. They then thanked her grandparents for everything and prepared to head out again.
"What did you want us to see, again?" She whispered to Saffron.

Saffron shook her head. It had been off and awkward but that was expected, from her at least. Her grandparents were waiting for her to break and throw a knife the whole time.
"They have been together since they were sixteen. They married for love, and they had moved to another country after they had been dragged out of their own." Saffron told her friend. "They have been in love and have had a strong durable marriage the whole way." She glanced back again and sighed. "I wish you could have seen it truely, but today, today wasn't the best example."

"They're faking it." She said, doubting that someone could be in love for that long. Sure a few years, ten tops. But as long as they had probably been together? No way.

Saffron shook her head.
"I very much doubt that, but believe what you will for now." Ron said. If you looked at the way her grandfather looked at her grand-mere, you could see that he loved her and vise verse.

"Very well then. I stil say they're faking." She said. "No body can love someone for that long without straying or faking it."
