May nodded. "Aunt Ama definatly had enough streghth for all three of you." May said. She looked around the house. All of it was so familiar to her but it was missing something... It had been since Ama dissapered...

"I know what you're looking for. The thing. The thing this place is missing. It's missing the sound of home. It's missing mom calling dad into the kitchen to try one of her "experiments", it's missing mom and dad laughing about something that happened in the war, and mom making her sex jokes. Without mom, this place just isn't a home." Aeron said. "Mom and Dad got this place together and without her, it's just half of what it's supposed to be."

May nodded. "Yeah it is just half empty." May agreed. She knew that Amaya would probably never come back and the house would never be full again. She got very depressed...

"I do feel better knowing that she didn't leave because of us or anything. She did truly love Dad and all. It's not like she willingly left us." Aeron said.
They knew what had happened because some people had gotten out and told them where Amaya was. But that she couldn't get out in time.
"How are Aunt Jay and Uncle Charlie?" Aeron asked.

May nodded. It was good knowing she didn't leave because of the family and friends. "They are doing good. Mom is trying to help Damion out and Dad is doing good at not being jealous."

"The infamous jackass is back?" Aeron said, looking up surprised. "Isn't he dead?"
Whenever he had heard Damion's name uttered, it had been by Abigail saying he was a jackass, but she missed him and before his mom disappeared, her cursing his name and wishing she had gotten the chance to bash his skull in with a crystal ball.

"Yeah... He was captured by the Rassis not killed apparently. Mom is trying to get him an Abby back on good terms-- but it isn't working." May said. She had heard the cursing of Damion but from time to time there was a nice comment about him from her mom.

"Yeah." Aeron said. "I can see that. But wait! Wouldn't Joe have known that Damion was alive? Didn't his story go "I fought to the last, but they killed him? I don't know why they spared me, but they did. Probably because of my superior fighting skills." ? Seems kinda fishy, don't it?"
They knew why Abby hated Damion so much and why Resa didn't have a dad the first few years of her life. But they had been sworn the keep the secret under many many threats of terrible things. Plus it just made Resa and Abby's life easier.

"It is Joe! He can't fight his way out of a paper bag! He can't even beat me or Elly in a fight! There is no way he beat a group of Rassis." May said. May knew the story... she had always felt a little sorry for Damion-- he might be an asshole but not even knowing he had a daughter.. and not being able to appligize. Then just the torture he must have suffered.

"Well yeah. I can see not being able to beat you, but Elly. I mean come on. She's tough, just prone to illness. A group of Rassi's though. No. I can't see it." Aeron said. "Can Damion go back to the settlement or does he have to stay amongst us non-woodlanders the rest of his life?"

"He is going back as soon as Mom lets him. She is worried about his health-- and his drinking. He keeps coming home drunk. I think he has a few things he is trying to drown that he can't." May said.

"Drinking is awesome. But the hangovers are not. That is why I don't get drunk very often. Someone who does needs help. There is totally something that he is trying to forget, but I don't think he's going about it the right way. Death is so much easier." Aeron said. "Either that, or hot girls."

May hit Aeron on the back of the head again. "That is seriously all you think about isn't it?" May asked. "And yes he does need help but he won't talk! I mean I don't expect him to talk to me but still he is so closed off." May said ignoring the Aeron getting drunk part.

"Well! So? I haven't gotten any in a month! I have needs too you know!" Aeron defended. "I wouldn't expect him to talk to you, if all you do is hit people when they make a good and honest suggestion. Bad May. Bad."

"Okay Aeron WAY TO MUCH INFORMATION!" May said- still at a whisper but a loud one. "And no that is only you. You should feel special." she said hitting him on the head again. "I think my mom is getting him to open up. A little."
