"Aren't you always in overprotective brother mode?" May asked. "I don't think he really likes the nick name though... for all you know he might snap soon. I'd rather not have to mediate a fight between you two."

"If he snaps, one of us would be dead." Aeron said. "I don't do as many contracts as him, so I'm not as well trained, but I could take him down if I needed to. So no worries. You'll never have to mediate a fight for us."
Aeron kinda of played with his thumbs for a moment.
"Besides, he would do anything for Elly, even if she annoys the crap out of him. He's even more overprotective of her than I am. But he's a fool if he thinks that I don't know about him taking her on some of his contracts." Aeron said.

"Yeah, I'd rather not plan a funeral either!" May said. She watched as Aeron just stared at his hands. "He keeps her safe though... He would never put Elly in danger."

"I don't have to like anyway, do I? Besides, there are things out of his control. He may not try to put her in danger, but he does anyway. Just by taking her along, he does. She's not supposed to do them. She's too frail, but since when does he listen?" Aeron said. "It's because of them that's she sick right now, but dad's still ignorant of this, so I didn't tell him."

May bit her lip. There wasn't much she could say. Aeron was right. Rast wouldn't stop taking her because Elly wouln't stop asking... Of all things in the world Elly didn't like being treated as frail as she was.

"The only thing good about this illness right now is that she can't go on the contracts right now. Maybe this will talk some sense into her. She doesn't like being sick." Aeron said. "When she's as frail as she is where anything can trigger her getting sick, she shouldn't be going outside that much anyway."

May nodded. Again Aeron was right but not completely thinking about everything. "But that isn't what Elly wants.... Elly doesn't like being sick but she wants to get stronger..." May said very quietly.

May closed her eyes and nodded. There was no way that Elly would stay cooped up very long. "None of us want to see her dead, Aeron. None of us want to see her sick either. But how long will Elly be able to stay cooped up with out going insane?" May asked again her voice still barely above a whisper.

"My bet is at three minutes." Aeron said. "I don't want her cooped up in here either. If it was up to me she wouldn't be in this postion. She would be able to do all the normal things. But she can't. She hates it, but she can't."

"We do anyway." Aeron said. "I wish mum was here. She would know what to do. Somehow, she always kept us going, no matter what. She kept all of us going, including your mom, Uncle Charlie, Aunt Dody and Uncle Jake, Auntie Serrie and Uncle Tidus. All of us. I dont' know how she did it, but she lead an army and she won. And now, she's gone."

May nodded. She missed Aunt Ama. "Yeah she did.... She was one strong woman..." May said. She looked at Aeron, he had that same stregth. He would never know it but he was the one that kept them going. "Your a lot like her."

"Dad tells me that all the time. I think all of her children got her strength, they all just have to use it in different ways. Seraphina, she has to be the one to keep Dad from falling apart and me, I have to use it to keep our group together." Aeron said. "And we know how Elly has to use it."
