May had decided to take Phyre to one of her hide outs, where she went to get away from the city, her friends from time to time, and to work out issues. Right now it seemed an appropriate place to talk with Phrye. She walked up to her mother's cabin and opened the door.
The place had been abandoned when May had first found it. She had shown her mother and her mom had told her about how this had been her's when she was growing up, and the letters that her mom had found while looking around. May had spent hours in here pouring over the letters wishing she could pass on a tradition like that. For May this was sanctuary and a second home. May had fixed it up by herself and had made it her own.
She let Phyre into the cabin. "Welcome to my sanctuary." May told him.

Phyre had followed May to the cabin. It looked a little run down from the outside but inside was the pieces of May he hadn't seen in her house. He was glad for the time alone with May. It was half way through his stay and he hadn't spent all that much time with just May.
"It is really you." Phyre said. "What is it? I mean besides a cabin."

May smiled. "Thanks." she said. "It was my mothers. I took it over after I found it, I fixed it up. It is my escape. I don't have to worry about any of my friends coming here, none of them know about it. I can just get away and think when I'm here. No city, no parents, no friends, no people, no animals, no rassis. Just peace and quite."
May went and sat down on one of the couches. She patted the seat next to her. "Come sit."

"None of them know about it? Some how I doubt that, one of them has probably followed you here before." he said. "They seem like that type."
He went and sat down next to her.
"If this is your sanctuary, why am I here?" Phyre asked.

May laughed. "Yeah they are the type. Aeron tried following me once after we got into a fight I heard him make a mistake about half way thorough and went on a different path. Same with Elly. They both think that I go to a waterfall that is around this area after a fight or when I go clear my head," she said.
She put her feet up and hugged her knees.
"I wanted to show you because I thought it would be a good place for us to talk." she said.

Phyre turned toward May, leaning back against the arm rest. May's body language was almost protective. As if she wasn't sure how he would react to what ever she was going to tell him.
"What do you want to talk about?" Phyre asked.

May sighed and leaned back letting go of her legs. "I want to know if your okay. You haven't been acting completely like your self. I know it is a different environment, but you got in a fight on the first night with my best friend- a fist fight. You don't fight back at the settlement a)because you are stronger than them and b) because you don't like violence. What is going on?" May said.

Phyre sighed. Of course May would notice. "I'm not allowed to tell you that." Phyre told her to start. "I have just been over taken by the new world that is out here. The war, the loss, the violence, it is all over takeing. When we were at the settlement I knew I could take care of you now that we're here I have no idea how to fight. I have no knowledge of what the war is like. I can't fight, Rastus pointed that out to me. We are on two different playing levels."

May nodded. "Your right, we are." She said. She saw Phyre's face fall. "Let's even it out."
She got up and took his hand and lead him up to the loft. It was a complete training area, her weapons, punching bags, anything she could get her hands on to put in here. "When my friends started training for Crescents, i wasn't allowed because i was the only one that wasn't a crescent of any sort. So I started to learn on my own with some help from my aunt Ama and mom. The both had had ample training. They helped me create the original version of this room and then over time it expanded." May told him.
"Now, I had been shooting a bow since I was old enough to hold one. You are a good shot but you have never perfected the skill. I'm going to teach you how to perfect it and enough fist fighting to at least hold your own against Aeron, then we will move on to other weapons." She took a bow down from one of the walls and tossed it to him. "Ready?"

Phyre caught the bow. Learning from May was better than having to ask one of her friends to help him, no one at the encampment could help him. "Ready." Phyre said.
May smiled and they started.

Three hours later May had gotten rid of most of Phyre's bad habits with the bow. Phyre had hit the bullseye on the target twice and she let him take a break, a short one.
'How can I teach him to fight? I could do it the way I learned how to sword fight....' May thought. 'No that wouldn't work very well. We should start with punches.'
She walked up to Phyre and stood in front of him. "Punch me."

Phyre was grateful for the break. May was a good trainer but she seemed to be hard. His arms hurt from pulling that bow back so many times. The wood wasn't as flexible as the wood he was used to. When ever May showed him something, she pulled it back with ease and hit the bulls-eye every time -almost she missed by an inch once.
When she came up to him and told him to punch her he was confused. "Why would I punch you?" He asked.

May rolled her eyes. "Because you have got to learn hand to hand. You want to be on the same level as me, punch me." May said.

Phyre frowned. "I'm not going to punch you May." Phyre said. "I want to be on the same level but can't a learn another way?"

May sighed, Phyre wouldn't punch her. It wasn't in his nature. "Fine, but you are going to have to spar with me eventually." she said.
May took his hand and lead him over to a punching bag. He punched, she gave him a few pointers and tried again. He wasn't getting enough power behind it. "Phyre you have got to get angry. Come on think of something that will get you pissed. Anything."
