Charles was sitting in one of the taverns along the market place. He was trying to find some sense with a couple of beers. Dante was off doing his own thing for a little while. Charles was allowed outside the city but only for short periods of time.
Charles said "Hi," to Luke as he plopped down in the bar stool next to Charles. Luke looked more depressed than Charles did. "Whats up with you?"

"Dude, I got some news. You know how no one can get in and out of the city, 'sides you and some of the other guards? That's really sucking right now. Dody and I were talking. She gets to see Sonja everday, cuz of that sewage hole only she can fit through. She told me that Sonja's pregnant." Luke said. He wasn't depressed because of the baby, no, he was excited. But he couldn't see her, and that alone was pretty damn depressing. Add in everything else, and you got one depressed, angsty person.

"Yeah, that really sucks. If you really want to see Sonja you could join the guard, which i doubt you would but were allowed out of the city to patrol from time to time. Either way i doubt this will last the ten months that Sonja will be pregnant so you'll probably get to see her before the baby is born." Charles said not really sure if this was good advice or not but it was what he could think of.

"I guess I could, but I don't think I want to. I just don't think it's worth it. No offense, but your job carries alot of risk, and I'm kind of a coward. I don't really want to die, you know. That would really suck." Luke said. "Yeah, you're right. There's no way this'll last 10 months. But she's 3 months along, so I just hope it doesn't last six months."
He ordered a beer with Charlie.

"No one wants this to last that long." Charles said. The bartender gave them the drinks and they were just balls of joy the whole night especally once they were drunk.
