Jadiza was coming down from her village, usually women weren't allowed to leave, but she had been granted permission. She wanted to see what the forest was like outside of the village. Her father had given her permission- well because she was the daughter he was not proud of in the least.
She continued along the trail wondering when she'd find a place she could go off in. The forest was thick with brambles after all, and dangerous animals. Out of habit she touched the sword at her side, it was after all the best thing about her town. No matter gender, you got a sword and training. Like that old city state Sparta, women staid home and fought the borders, men went out to expand them.
She heard foot steps, and quickly went into a defensive stance.
"Hello?"

It had taken weeks of begging, but her mother and older brother had finally agreed to let her go beyond the town borders. She wanted to go beyond them, see what's out there, but she had to come back. That was hte one thing. She didn't want to go back. But she would.
She heard the hello and almost charged at the person, like she was taught, but realized who it was.
"Jadiza Tor, what are you doing out here?" She asked.

"Saga daughter of Flora?" Jadiza asked, sheathing her blade once again. "Merry met, Dagur Florason." She said, bowing her head to the pair.
"My father let me leave," she said. There was much more to it that that; she doubted she was supposed to come back.

Dagur nodded.
"Jadiza Tor." He acknowledged. He looked over at Saga. They should probably head back to the village soon. "How has your day been?"

"It has been well, Yours?" she asked.

"It has gone well, Jadiza Tor. However, it is getting late. If you wish, I shall escort you back with my sister." He said, stiffly. They were a good bit from the village, maybe an hour's walk. And if it snowed...

Jadiza actually gave them a soft smile.
Jadiz said.\, "I will not require an escort. May your road be safe."

"I must insist." He said. "It is dangerous out here past dark."

"It is kind of you, Dagur." she said, her voice soft, then stiff. That was another reason her father didn't like her- she showed her softness. No, women were supposed to be tough to all but their husband and children. She was a horrible daughter. "But I am not expected home."

"Then come with us to our home." He said. "My wife shall make you dinner."
Saga looked at her.
She went over to her and whispered in her ear.
"This is forward, but please accept. You look cold, Jadiza Tor." She whispered. She shouldn't have done that. She could feel Dagur's disapproving eyes on the back of her head.

Jadiza saw a sincere look in Saga's eye.
"Then I will accept," she said, with a curtsy. "I thank you."

Dagur nodded.
"Come with me." He said, to the two girls.

They all arrived at Saga, Dagur, their mother, and Inga's house. Inga was Dagur's wife. She was actually only a year older than Saga and Jadiza, and had married him last year. She was heavy with their first child.
Inga ushered them all in.

Jadiza staid quite through the better part of the time she spent there.
