Vows

Harper, I give you me, not just my heart, not just my mind not just my body and not just my soul, I give you all of it. Not that I had much choice, you stole it from me. But I love you, and here as we stand, I vow to love you always, more than I love the red rose. I'll forgive you as the purple Hyacinth begs. I'll always be your best friend, like the Periwinkle. I'll never hand you a striped carnation no matter how mad you make you me and forever be faithful and ardently love you like a white carnation. I'll forever be yours and always love you more than you'll ever imagine or understand. This I vow to you and promise.

Saffron. I can't give you my heart, my mind, my body, or my soul. You already have them. I can't give you my love, for it was always yours. So instead, I stand here today and I promise to keep your heart, your mind, your body, your soul, and your love safe, for I cherish them above all other things. I promise to love you, to honor you, to defer to your wisdom in all things because I'm completely hopeless without you. I promise to love you forever and a day, and even after that.

As a doctor, I've had to learn that people die in the most unexpected of ways and that sometimes forever doesn't work out. But I can promise you my forever, that for as long as I live, I shall love you and that for as long as my soul sees fit to hang around, even after death, I shall remain in love with you.

I can't promise that we won't argue nor can I promise that everything in life will go smoothly. But I can promise that in the end, none of that will matter because we love each other and we will make it work. I can promise to always forgive you as I know you will always forgive me and that come hell or high water, we will be together.

I promise to never look at daisies, because those flowers are jinxed.

Saffron, my light, I love you more than I ever thought possible and I'm falling even more in love with you every day. And I make this vow, right here, right now, that that will never change, because you are the most amazing, incredible, fantastic woman in my whole world and I will never stop loving you more and more each and every day because of it. These, Saffron, are my promises and vows to you, my light.
