She took it and got down out of the carriage. His hands were slightly rough, surprising somewhat for one of noble birth. (ooc. he looks like he'd have rough hands..)
They walked into the castle, escorted by servants and the like swarming them and telling them where their rooms would be and when dinner would be ready and such.

Daxton gentelly thanked the servants for their services and asked then asked Deidra if she would like to change before they ate.
"That dress doesn't look the most comfortable thing in the world." he commented.
(ooc. He probably does...)

If Juliet had said that to her, she would have replied with "It is so comfortable. Things poking my stomach and pinching my ribs are just so comfortable. And the side effect of not being able to breath? Comfort!"
But as it wasn't her best friend and instead someone, who despite being joined to her for the rest of their lives, that barely knew her and who she barely knew in return.
So she just followed a servant to her room and changed into a green dress that was, in fact, a hell of a lot more comfortable.

Daxton had also changed, as much as he teased Langston, those damn collars were really itchy, and he was pretty sure his neck was red from it. Who ever invented them should go die. He probably looked like a peasant now, but he could care less. His mother wasn't around to tell him to go change and his new wife didn't seem the kind to care.
They ran into each other right at the entrance of the dining room. "More comfortable?" he asked.

Well, he was dressed at about the same formal level as her, so she didn't suppose that she cared. On the contrary, it was fine by her.
She nodded and they went in to the dining room.
Dinner wasn't extravagant. It was only the two of them after all, so while some of the foods were only served at celebratory occasions, over all it was a simple affair.
They sat down to eat and were given wine to drink.

Daxton enjoyed the meal, though the silence wasn't uncomfortable, he wished he could fill it, but there was really nothing to say.
"You know, I've never really understood the point of long tables except for banquets, which are about three days out of a very long year." he commented, looking at how they were supposed to be seated. Her on one end of a very long table, him the other. He took his set and moved it to the seat next to hers.

"They're so that old married couples who have grown bitter with age and killing of mutual pets can stare at each other from across a table but still be far enough away to not lunge at each other's throats." She said.
It was the truth.
She had seen the lunging happen once anyway. Hilarious.

Daxton laughed.
"Those poor pets..." Daxton said. "I hope they were deaf. Feuding people are fun, but annoying to listen to."

She smiled.
"It's only annoying if the conflict is actually over something serious. I've seen a good many row begin and last for a long while over a slice of cake." She said. "What are dinners like in your home?"

"Noisey." he said. "The dog's usually at something, and there are little people here and there that make noise. Mostly kid's of the maids. My parents love noise. If the castle is quiet, they hire a bard. Yours?"

"There's my very loud Aunts and their husbands. I'm the youngest of all my cousins, so they all have their own children, who are between five years and a month old. There's about ten of them. Then there are my parents, who are constantly butting heads over state matters. And then, there are all the family friends like Julie's family and her new husband who eat with us. And the constant roving of guests and such keep the place busy." She said. "It's friendly though, and welcoming. If you can actually be heard by anyone near you and hear them in return, the conversation is usually pleasant."

He smiled.
"It sounds hectic." he said. "Do you like it?"

"It's comforting." She said.
She finished eating.

He smiled and nodded.
He'd finished as well. Daxton stood and offered his arm to her.
"Want to explore the castle?" he asked.

She stood up and took his arm, wordlessly. She expected the castle to look as all castles looked, but still, it might be entertaining to look through it.
"How old are you?" She asked.
