Amy sat in a meadow. Well, it should be that Sonja sat in a meadow, but she liked her middle name Amber better and she was called Amy. In fact, she even had an amber cross around her neck, a gift from the woman who raised her, Sister Annamae Johnson, the person who ran the orphanage in the church. So, like all the orphan kids, Amy was raised Christian. But she wasn't much of a religion type of person.
She was just sitting there, somehow contemplating life, when she heard someone behind her.
"Hello!" She called out.

James heard someone call out hello, so he decided to call back. "Hello? Someone in the meadow?" He came out of the trees and saw a girl sitting in the meadow. "Oh Hello. How are you?" He didn't know her but that meant she was a possible friend canidate.

"Hi! I'm Amy. Who are you, oh person of the trees?" She said, jokingly. She sat up straighter and smiled at the newcomer.

"Amy of the meadow." She said. "It's good to meet you, James of the trees. What brings you here?"
She had been picking daisies to make a daisy chain when James had come along. She picked up her work again and started it up.

"Just wandering around. I don't get to go out much. So whenever my over-protective siblings are busy I sneak out and wander. I'm only a month younger than them, they're so weird." James smiles at Amy. "What about you, what's your story?"

"I'd ask about the month younger thing and how that's even possible, but I'm not sure I want to know." Amy said. "I just got evicted and fired, so I'm just hanging out here for a day to clear my head."
She smiled. It happened alot actually. The boss would find out her real age and say that they wanted someone older or such. Most people didn't want to hire an eighteen year old for anything livable, since most eighteen year olds like at home.

"Fired huh?" James sighs. He soetimes thought how hard that must be on people but never in any deapth. "I work at my Mom's shop so I never have to worry about something like that. She started it when she was sixteen. When I hear about all of the cool storys my Mom and Dad tell me about there life, I reflect on mine. How meaning less it is. How meaning less a lot of our lives our, until we do soemthing big with ourselves." James ubruptly stops and looks at his shoes.

"Life really has no meaning to me." Amy said, fingering her amber cross. "So I get your point of view. I haven't found that thing I'm supposed to do, so I just don't have much of a purpose. I never had anyone to tell me stories anyway."

"Oh...I'm sorry. I should've made sure it wouldn't hurt you before I started talking. I'm really sorry." James was still looking at his shoes. He was fixed on them and didn't want to look up any time soon.

"It's ok James. I'm used to it. Truly I am. There are just certain things you adjust to when you don't know your biological family." Amy said, softly. "I may not have had anyone to tell me stories, but I did have people who loved me. And isn't that enough?"

James looks up and into Amy's eyes. "Yes. As long as you are loved it's always enough." He smiles.

Amy blushed and looked away. She smiled.
"Well, I always thought so atleast." She said. "It's enough for me. I just hope it's enough for the rest of the world."
She played with her amber cross and hoped to whatever was out there that she was right. Because if she wasn't, she didn't know what she was going to do.

"It should be enough for the world." James also had a small blush. He looked away and started fidiling with the grass.

Amy smiled.
"Well, then I guess it must be so, James of the Trees." Amy said. "What are your siblings like? You said that you try to get away from them."
