"Thanks," he said, and glanced out the window. Shoot. "I have to go, sorry. I need to check on my sister before I go on duty. I left her with a baby sitter that used to be a tightrope walker, and I'm kinda scared what she's teaching my sister. Sorry."
He got out the money for the food, as he was speaking.
