What leads a twenty year old to a church? Is it remorse, sickness, wishes? Not this one. It was pregnancy.
Donna was seven months along, with a child that would never have a father. He had decided that he didn't want a wife and child, so he left her. After marrying her, basically rendering her unable to go on with life. Scum.
Maybe she would be better off alone anyway. Maybe she could be a good mother.
Here she was, in the church. It wasn't for any sort of spiritual fulfillment. Though she did feel better in here. No, it was because she was homeless and the priests here would let her stay during the rainy and cold nights so that her child wasn't harmed.
She heard someone behind her ask if she was ok.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She said, turning around.

"Donna." She said so quietly, it might have just been a faint whisper over a breath. But she knew that Dody could hear her. "What brings you here, on this cold rainy night, Ms. Dody?"

"Nothing much. Just praying for strength to get through my boyfriends death and to not die during my fight in 6 days. How about you?" Dody smiled at Donna.

"Praying for strength. Basically anything. As you can probably tell, I need it." She said, gesturing to her large, protruding belly. "My husband left, and I'm alone."

Dody chuckles "Yeah that would suck. Im sorry to hear it. So uh wear do you live? I could stop by and help you out sometime. Pregnancy can be hard to deal with so you'll probably want someone to be there to help. Besides i'm a medic so i'll know what to do if you're ever in trouble." Dody smiles at Donna.

"Live?" Donna said, nervously. "I guess you could call me homeless. After the husband left, I couldn't pay the bills, and I had to leave. I've been on the streets for two months now. I guess he couldn't even take 3 months of marriage."

"What a terrible man!" Dody sighs. "If you want a place to stay I have plenty of beds at my house. I own a tea shop and above that is were I and about....8 men,....7 woman,...4children and 2 babys live. It used to be just me but with the war and the castle closing many people have had to move in. If you want to come and join the peaceful caose theres always a bed and a room full of people you could stay in. It's free of charge and no loop holes so if you want the doors almost always open. 'Cause see I have to lock it at night so no one comes in a steals anything while I sleep." Dody smiled at her terrible joke. "So what do you say? You want to come or no?"

Donna was touched by her generosity. But something else was driving her right now.
"Thanks but no thanks. My husband was a Crescent. They may be the scum of the earth that killed my uncle and cousin, who were close to me, and of course my husband. But my child is one of them thanks to him, so I want them to atleast be raised among people who might support him. So I'm going to decline." Donna said. "Good luck with that prayer."
She went to go talk to the priest, again, about a possible job he could offer her as a secretary. She thought of the woman, who didn't even know her, but would still offer her a home. It was sweet, but she didn't want to burden her.
