Jaysn told Amaya, "I'm going to take care of it some time this week so don't worry. Charles, Dante, Amaya, how was work this week?" She then asked wanting to think of any thing but Damion today.

"Oh, I do odd jobs and paperwork for my Auntie and am a general annoyance to this world." Amaya said. "I get paid well for it, and I don't tell anyone what the jobs are about, so I keep my jobs."

"We took down a few pickpockets and some vandals on my watch. It was pretty dull. Did you find anything cool during your watch Charlie?" Dante said. He enjoyed his job to a certain degree. It was a job though. It wasn't that fulfilling, and he was seen as the "bad guy" sometime to the public, and he didn't like that. There were times he just wanted a normal job.

Charles just shook his head. "Nothing cool. Pickpockets thats basicly it." Charles had joined when he was younger mostly to get away from home. He sent a check every other month to his mom though. "What do you do Jaysn?"

"Nothing much this week. My client didn't show up so i didn't have to lend anyone a hand guide wise. I mostly helped out in a couple of the villages in the woods and helped Amaya out now." Jaysn replied. It was still bugging her about this client, it was the first time she was stood up by a client.

(ooc. how about the client was an imperial killed by a crescent? I have an idea that would jumpstart an entire plot around this that could end in a war.....Oh! Amaya did a contract a few days ago, killing a guy named Ernest Harton. It should be him!)
"What was the clients name? Auntie has no work for me for a few weeks, I can see if something's wrong. It's probably nothing though." Amaya said. "It's the least I could do for all your help down at Auntie's place this week."

"Ernest Harkon, i think." Jaysn replied. "I don't know why he wouldn't show up." Jaysn shuttered a bit as ideas of what could have happened to him ran through her head.

Amaya smirked alittle. She could literally laugh out loud. SHE HAD KILLED THAT GUY!
"I'll do what I can, but I'm not sure what I can dig up. Dante, Charles, think you guys could see what you can dig up on the guy?" Amaya asked, taking a sandwich out and bitting into it. Later, when the guys were gone, she might tell Jay about the guy.

"Yeah I'm sure i can find some info on him. I have book duty for most of this week so I'll be spending a lot of time with the records." Charles said. He started helping Jaysn get the food out of the picnic basket. He was trying to figure out if he had any chance at all with Jaysn, she just didn't seem to notice him all that much.

"I don't have book duty, but when I have a break in watches, I'll help Charlie out." Dante offered. He helped Charlie and Jaysn unpack and Amaya joined them. Soon they were all biting into sandwichs and talking about random topics.
Jaysn said something about how the forest was getting more dangerous, and that reminded Dante of something.
"That reminds me. A wild troll was spotted a few miles from here. The local guard is advising that no one travel alone and to stay on main roads during the night. Apparently the trolls and ogres are giving the locals some troubles." Dante said.

Jaysn was slightly put off by that. "Really? Most of the time the trolls keep to them selves. The ogers have always been a problem for the settlers though." Jaysn frowned. She didn't like this her forest was getting less safe and the settlers were getting attacked more. She knew the settlers could take care of them selves but some of the people that decide to take walks in the forest don't even own a sword.

"Yeah, something's happening. It's riling them up and they are becoming violent. Some's big's about to happen. The animals can always sense it first. I don't mean to say that trolls and ogres are animals, because they aren't. They just have similar senses to animals." Dante said. He didn't know what was going to happen, but when it happened, it was going to be huge.

"Hmmm.... okay. I'll have a talk with some of the settlers we can beef up our defences a bit but you might want to try to warn people in the city to always have a weapon on them." Jaysn told him. She had a slight feeling that what ever was going to happen this was going to be one of the last times for a while they were going to be able to just talk and laugh. Jaysn changed the subject and the conversation went back to lighter topics.

"Gotcha. So you guys, the first snow's due in a few weeks! You guys ready for sledding and snowball fights?" Dante said. When it came to snow, he and Charlie were regular five year olds, having snowball fights and going sledding. When he saw Amaya's face light up at the mention of such things, he knew that she was too.

Charles had a huge grin plastered across his face. He loved snow! "Ha, we should have a snow ball fight against each other. Jaysn and Amaya aganist Dante and me. Dante and I are going to win of course."
