Than felt it grab her again. The tendrils. It made her shiver. Just like it had before, and she ran. Ran like death was chasing her.
She stopped. There was no point in running. She closed her eyes and climbed a tree. The height helped somehow, she never knew why. But ever since it started chasing her again, she found height helped.
Her eyes closed, and leaned against the tree.
A noise caught her ear below her.
"Stranger?" she called.

"She's coming for you. There is no real escape. No salvation. Only darkness in your future. Reconsider, and she might just let you spend eternity in peace." Takara said.

"She's always come for me. Never stopping, never will stop. It isn't up to her my peace, just my end." Than said.
She sighed and hopped down. She wasn't scared of death- but she wanted her life.

"She can't stop. She is owed a soul and she'll stop at nothing to get it. Either give her yours or offer her another of equal or more value in your place." She said. "But..could you do it? Because if you do, there is another price you must pay in return for her taking their soul instead."
She walked over to the girl.

"My soul will be hers. When she suceeds, her talons grab but they do not latch. I'm not entirly hers yet. Soon I shall be." Than said.
She sat at the base of the tree.
"For now, I have a deal with Death."

Takara shook her head. Stupid girl. Did she really think that Death was so kind and forgiving as to give her a deal?
She smirked.
"No. You do not have a deal with Death. She sent me here with a message. And here it is." Takara took a deep breath. "You want a deal, you better come and grovel before her, begging for mercy. Otherwise, you will be taken down to hell."

"I could, but I won't." She said, cavalierly. "I'm also here to tell you something not from my boss. Don't dance with death. I did, and I regretted it ever since."
Takara looked at her, and made sure the girl saw her eyes. Her cold, dead eyes that filled with regret.
"If I could take it back, I would. I've lived like this for 200 years." She said.

Than smiled, probably suprising the girl.
"My dance with death is soon done. I escaped her hands once, but now she has me in her tendrils. Soon I will be hers." Than said.

"Depending on your purpose in this life, you may escape her yet." Takara said. She went over to the girl.
"Don't be like me. Accept the inevitable and live while you still can. Maybe God will be forgiving." She said.

Takara smiled. Or what was the moral equivalent of smiling for her.
"I fear he's forsaken us all." She said. "I will go. But please, remember, eternity is only as bad as you make it. It doesn't have to be fire and brimstone. It can be pleasent."
She closed her eyes and disappeared.

A few more months. Then her he could have her.
Than got up and went back to sitting in her tree.
