It was manned only by her father, her cousin, her uncle, and her older brothers, but they had a somewhat steady income. Certainly they were poor, but they had neighbors doing much worse. She held her dress from the ground slightly as she ran, so not to get her dress wet or dirty. She only had two dresses. She was so busy concentrating on getting to the ship and deliver the message from her mother to her father that she didn't notice when she slammed into someone. She was flung backwards and fell on her back. She was winded and for a second it felt like she couldn't breath.

"Are you alright?" Asmer asked to the being that had just slammed into her.

"Not hurt." she reported. "Sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings.

"It's ok. I should have been looking out where I was running too. Where are you heading anyway?" She said. "You look lost and I haven't seen you before, so you're not from here, are you?"
The people on the docks, where she lived, only numbered about 50 people, actually, so they all knew each other and looked after each other. There were more people who lived in the actual city and that's who the bulk of hte people here where from.

Asmer nodded.
"A little lost. I'm trying to find my way back to the market type place. I'm from a lot farther inland." She said. "I'm Asmer, you?"

"Rosemary." She said. "I just have to deliever a message to my father and then I'd be happy to guide you there. Follow me."
She run, slower, to her father's boat. She told him the message and turned around to Asmer.
"Where are you from?" She asked, as they walked away.

"Yeah, down there." She said, pointing to the rows of small shacks just beyond the harbor and sort of on the beach.

Asmer followed the finger.
"Is it nice living close to the beach?" she asked.

Rosemary shrugged.
"It's fine. It sucks when hurricanes come in and when it's hot, and pretty much all the time except for winter. But it's fine." She said.

"I would think when it's hot it would be a relief." Asmer said.

"It's not." She said. "In the winter, there aren't as many people here, so it's less crowded and more peaceful. In the summer, you don't get that."
