"Not a chance in cold, frozen hell." She said, growling.

Deragon frowned. He evaporated and came behind Grayson. He placed his hands on her shoulders and whispered in her ear. "Maybe you just haven't heard what it means to be a collector. You get to stay eternally beautiful, as you are now, never have to worry about dieing or an arrow in your heart, forever young. You don't have to even work really, you only need to carry a bag with my souls in it. You can even keep your own." Dearagon whispered. "No more worries. And no more emotions-I can't forget that one. You'll never feel hurt or pain, or that pesky love that you humans do. Wouldn't you like that?"

"You'll never get me." She said. "I don't even have a soul to begin with."

Deragon wrapped his arms around the girls waist. "Ahh,but that just increases your appeal." Deragon said. "Just tell me what you wish for, I'll give it to you. For the simple price of you becoming a collector, such a simple job."

"Obviously you don't know the meaning of the word no. So I'm going to say it again. No. Never." She said. "The simplest things are the hardest. And would please release me?"

"Aww, Why not, dilectio?" he whispered in her ear. "Why not join me? What doesn't appeal?"

"Let's see....Living forever, you, carrying around a bag of souls, never aging, and all that." She said. "Did I mention you?"

"You don't have to see me very often, dilectio." Deragon said, his arms retreating to her shoulders. "Forever isn't all that bad...Do you want to feel you body disintegrate? I can give you eternal life with eternal ageing if you wish."

"It's more the watching people die around me." She said, trying to break free. "And besides, you come off as a slimy bastard. Who the hell would want to work for you? Even if I never saw you, I'd still rather not know that I'm working for you."

"Ahh but you would feel anything for them as they past, even then, as a collector you would have the ability to visit them after they have past as well. And there are plenty that want to work for me, I can introduce you. Though you have already met one hasn't she Vidor?" Deragon said.
Vidor gritted his teeth as he leaned against a tree with his hat covering his face. He had seen this routine too many times before.

She tried to pull away.
"Listen." She said. "I don't know who you think you are, or why you think you know me, but if you've been paying attention for the last ten minutes, you would know that I find him annoying and idiotic. So why would I even consider doing something that he did?"

Vidor looked at the girl. "I didn't have much of a choice in the matter. If you find me annoying and idiotic, then know that I would find the choice to be a collector annoying and idiotic." Vidor said. Deragon sent a shock through Vidor. "Sorry, godfather." he said and retreated back again.

"See?" She said. "I'm not going to take your deal. So you can let go of me now and just accept that."

"Ahh, Maybe I'll just have to have you think it over." Deragon said. "I've got souls to steal anyway. You know you pesky humans don't live long enough." Released the girl and turned into smoke.

She looked at Vidor as though he had the plague, which he just might, and ran off. She used a transportation spell and went home. And made a promise to herself never to mention anything that had transpired there.
Of course, there was no hiding anything from her familiar, Draven. The black cat just sat next to her on her bed and looked at her as if it knew everything that had happened that day and more.
She just sighed and petted him.
"Draven, you're the bestest." She said. "You're my best friend."
